Campus Range
Lasers can be found everywhere. The most widespread use of lasers is in optical storage devices such as compact disc and DVD players. Other common applications of lasers are bar code readers, laser printers and laser pointers . In industry, lasers are used for cutting steel and other metals and for inscribing patterns. Lasers are also commonly used in various fields in science, especially spectroscopy, typically because of their well-defined wavelength or short pulse duration in the case of pulsed lasers. Lasers are used by the military for range-finding, target identification and illumination for weapons delivery. Lasers used in medicine are used for internal surgery and cosmetic applications.
The CAMPUS range of laser training systems from MICOS was designed and developed over the years to give educators and students a hands-on experimental system to teach laser principles and their most common applications. Too often students are confronted with equipment which is not suited to teaching because it is too application-specific, or, oversized, or just too complex and expensive. The Campus laser training system offers 26 separate experimental sets covering basic optics, laser basics, laser metrology, telecoms, laser material processing and a number of other laser applications. The Campus range is specifically designed for the educational environment, constructed to allow maximum insight into functionality with full and safe access to all components.
